Lithophanes of the Sea – $69.95

Lithophane 1 Lithophane 2 Lithophane 3 Lithophane 4 Lithophane 5

These two lovely lithophane boxes appear to be unique, and perhaps hand-made.  We can find nothing like them on the internet despite a diligent search.

Price:  Buy-it-now price is $69.95 for the set plus $9.95 shipping & handling if not picked up in person.  Opening bid if on eBay is $53.75.
# Available:  one set of two lithophane boxes by the same artist

E L Delberti Wine/Champagne Glasses Inscribed “Ray” and “Pauline”

 Wine Glasses - E L Delberti 1 Wine Glasses - E L Delberti 2 Wine Glasses - E L Delberti 3 Wine Glasses - E L Delberti 4 Wine Glasses - E L Delberti 5

These lovely and graceful wine glasses are apparently silver plate over stainless (?), and seem to date back to the early 1970s, based on the inscriptions:  One says “Ray 5/17/1974” and the other, “Pauline 5/17/1974”.  They may have been used for Ray & Pauline’s wedding toast?

As the pictures show, they are somewhat tarnished which is natural due to their age.

Price:  $18.00.

# Available:  two as a set

Size:  6″ high x 3 3/4″ in diameter

Weight:  less than 1 pound each

Approximate Age:  40+ years

Defects, Nicks and/or Blemishes: .
Any white or dark shading that shows in the photos is from the camera flash and is not seen in the items themselves; the silver is tarnished, which is natural for its age.

SOLD! Vintage Round Marble Top Table with Ornate Brass Pedestal Base – Now $35.00!

Marble Top Table 2 Marble Top Table 3

Vintage, beautiful round marble top end or plant table with ornate brass base.

The marble is in near perfect condition with only a single very minor chip on the edge, from an incident that happened while in our shop.  Otherwise, there are no cracks, stains or yellowing; it is white with light to dark shades of gray.

The table is 17 1/2″ tall.  The top is 15″ in diameter, and 5/8″ thick; the brass base is 7 1/2″ wide at the bottom.

At 14.5 pounds, this piece is heavy, well made and in excellent condition!

Marble Top Table 4 Marble Top Table 5 Marble Top Table 1

Price:  Originally $129.00, this little table has been reduced to just $35.00!  Of course, the 5.5% Maine sales tax applies.

# Available:  one

Size:  17 1/2″ high x 15″ wide.

Weight:  14.5 lbs

Approximate Age:  Unknown, vintage.

Condition: Pre-Owned / Used

Defects, Nicks and/or Blemishes:  It appears that the pedestal was removed from the marble top and glued back on.  Our suspicion is that the bolts holding the base to the top were sheared off, as the bolt holes are there, and one can see where the pedestal was originally attached to the top.  This does not show unless you turn the table upside down but does constitute a defect of sorts.
There is now a very minor chip on the side of the table from an incident at our shop.
Any shading that shows in the photos is from the camera flash and is not seen in the piece itself.

“Erica and Jamie” – Edna Hibel Plate 1985 – $20.00

Edna Hibel Plate - Erica & Jamie 2 Edna Hibel Plate - Erica & Jamie 3

The prices for Edna Hibel plates are all over the map on the internet.  One site is selling this particular plate for $75.00, while I’ve also seen the exact same plate – denoted as “used” – for about $5.00 on eBay… and every price in-between.

My best guess is that this sweet little plate – which coincidentally came out the year my daughter was born – is worth about $20.00.  It comes complete with the hardware for hanging, although the original box has been lost.   It appears to be in pristine, never-used condition.

SOLD! From the “Running Into Six Figures Series”, by Earl Moran (1893-1984)

Earl Moran Nude 6

One of the most prolific and diverse pin-up artists – as well as one of the most important – Earl Moran worked with a variety of models (including Marilyn Monroe for 4 years, developing a lasting friendship with her in process).

Our print, which appears to be from the original portfolio of the “Running Into Six Figures” series, is a lovely nude (model’s name is unknown) depicted in shadows.

Here’s more information on Earl Moran:
http://grapefruitmoongallery.com/artists/earl-moran
http://www.thepinupfiles.com/moran1.html

Earl Moran Nude 1

The print came matted but unframed, and in a large plastic sleeve.  It had clearly been framed at one point, but somewhere the print endured some soiling (looks like a grease stain on the back but doesn’t show through on the front), and the bottom left hand corner was bent, leaving a crease.  The paper behind the picture was attached via cellophane tape, but has no grease stain, so appears to have been added after the fact.

Price:  $85.  State of Maine sales tax of 5.5% also applies.

# Available:  one

Size:  14″ high x 11″ wide, not including the matting.

Approximate Age:  Unknown, appears to be an original reproduction.

Defects, Nicks and/or Blemishes:  Several noted.

The white shading that shows in the photos is from the camera flash and is not seen in the print itself.

Location:  Den of Antiquities, 1399 Bridgton Road, Westbrook ME.  We are booth #56.

NOTE: Now that we’ve downsized at our main location, our new entrance is at the back of the building (use the rear entrance in back of 189 Main Street, off the Park Street side).  You’ll see some signs in the windows saying “Heritage Collectibles”, “Retail Shop” and “Welcome”, as well as our “Open” flag!

Thank you to everyone who has supported us for the past three years!
