SOLD! From the “Running Into Six Figures Series”, by Earl Moran (1893-1984)

Earl Moran Nude 6

One of the most prolific and diverse pin-up artists – as well as one of the most important – Earl Moran worked with a variety of models (including Marilyn Monroe for 4 years, developing a lasting friendship with her in process).

Our print, which appears to be from the original portfolio of the “Running Into Six Figures” series, is a lovely nude (model’s name is unknown) depicted in shadows.

Here’s more information on Earl Moran:

The print came matted but unframed, and in a large plastic sleeve.  It had clearly been framed at one point, but somewhere the print endured some soiling (looks like a grease stain on the back but doesn’t show through on the front), and the bottom left hand corner was bent, leaving a crease.  The paper behind the picture was attached via cellophane tape, but has no grease stain, so appears to have been added after the fact.

Price:  $85.  State of Maine sales tax of 5.5% also applies.

# Available:  one

Size:  14″ high x 11″ wide, not including the matting.

Approximate Age:  Unknown, appears to be an original reproduction.

Defects, Nicks and/or Blemishes:  Several noted.

The white shading that shows in the photos is from the camera flash and is not seen in the print itself.

Location:  Den of Antiquities, 1399 Bridgton Road, Westbrook ME.  We are booth #56.

NOTE: Now that we’ve downsized at our main location, our new entrance is at the back of the building (use the rear entrance in back of 189 Main Street, off the Park Street side).  You’ll see some signs in the windows saying “Heritage Collectibles”, “Retail Shop” and “Welcome”, as well as our “Open” flag!

Thank you to everyone who has supported us for the past three years!

In memory of my beloved husband John K Snyder… 20 Sept 1956 – 21 Oct 2016.
He loved our shops, especially the section we called Heritage Books, Maps & Ephemera – that was his baby.

He loved me like crazy, and oh how I loved him.

Follow our blog at https://warrior-project.org, in honor of my husband, and all others who have been lost to internal demons that in the end, overwhelmed them.

All of the profits after expenses from Heritage Collectibles, Books & Maps will go to help fund The (Grief) Warrior Project, a suicide prevention drop-in and counseling center in the process of being developed.

[Please Note: The (Grief) Warrior Project is in no way intended to be reflective of, or piggy back off, Wounded Warriors which serves those military personnel wounded after September 11, 20o1.  Like too many others, John was a warrior long before then.]
