SOLD! Cast Iron Plant or Sign Hanger with Painted Dog Perched on Top

I couldn’t find anything like this on-line after a quick search, although I’m certain this is cast iron (not wrought), meaning it was created from a mold.  So there should be others out there.

It is fairly rare to see the colors, as well…. although I’m not sure what kind of dog this is supposed to be.  It has a Scottish Terrier type shape, but not the coloration… and it’s not really a Schnauzer, either.  (Anyone with any ideas?)

In any event I love this cast iron plant hanger, and it is solid – not one of those flimsy modern ones!

The reverse is the same as the front.

Price:  $32.00.  Plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax, of course.

Condition:  Excellent.

Shipping & Delivery:  Please see the tabs above.

SOLD! A Nice Sturdy Little Bookcase with Ribbon & Bow Design

This is a sweet but sturdy little 3-shelf bookcase… and could be perfect for a young girl.  It presently has a natural stain but could easily be redone in bright colors or pastels!

Price:  Reduced!  Was $48.00; now $36.00!  Plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax, of course.

Condition:  Very good.  It does now have a stain on the top shelf that seems to be the result of something wet being set on it while on display a while back at a local shop; I didn’t look at it closely but I think it can be buffed out.

Dimensions:  It’s about 24″ W by 36″ H (to the top of the bow) x 11″ D.

Shipping & Delivery:  Please see the tabs above 1) Details: Shipping & Delivery for mail order options, and 2) Supporting the Grief Warrior Project if you’d like an appointment to see the item(s) in person prior to purchase.

SOLD! Nice Set of 4 Vintage Glass Decanters of Some Kind

I don’t know what these were used for.  They look kind of like small individual coffee pots but certainly could have been used for oils or something else.

The decanters are presently located in Auburn, but will be moving to the Undercover Flea Market in Oxford at some point.  To purchase prior to then, please contact Linda at LSnyder@regroupbiz.com.

Price:  $10.00 for the set of 4.  Plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax, of course.

Condition:  Good to very good.

Please forgive the lousy photography.

In memory of my beloved husband John K Snyder… 20 Sept 1956 – 21 Oct 2016.

He loved our shops, especially the section we called Heritage Books, Maps & Ephemera – that was his baby.  Johnny was an avid reader, who loved the feel of real books in his hands… history was his forte, but in true Renaissance Man fashion, John knew a lot about a great many subjects.  He would often be so fascinated by a book he was reading that he would excitedly read aloud passages to me, so we could discuss the ideas contained therein.

He loved me like crazy, and oh how I loved him.

SOLD! 29 Gallon Aquarium with Lights, price reduced!

Nice 29 gallon (30″ x 12″ x 18″) aquarium with built in fluorescent light.  Does not leak.

I’d originally had this for sale a while back, then decided to use it last winter for small plants.  That didn’t work out so well as I kept forgetting to water them.  This spring I put it in storage in my garage and forgot about it – but it takes up more room than I’d like and I’m never going to use it… so, back to the original plan!

Price:  Reduced!  Now just $30.00.  Plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax, of course. (Was $40.00)

Condition:  Excellent, except I broke a corner off the top cover when moving it.  (I still have the corner.)

Please forgive the lousy photography.

We have six of these 5-foot sections of vintage wrought iron fencing available.  No work required to install, just push them into the ground!

Price:  $70 each or $390 for all six sections.  Plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax, of course.

Condition:  Excellent!  However, they are metal and are outdoor pieces so there naturally is some minor rust in areas, which is to be expected.

Please forgive the lousy photography.

SOLD! These Free-Standing Metal Outdoor Flamingos are GREAT!

I love love love these flamingos!  They were purchased of course for sale by the business, but it will be hard to part with them! (Which is one reason why marketing the birds has been less focused than it should be!)

They don’t exactly go with all the other, more sedate lawns in my housing association and probably will just make my neighbors sigh about that crazy old lady at the top of the cul-de-sac (by the way, I am not THAT old!).  Which may be reason enough to not sell them!

Anyway, they are presently for sale but if you think you might want them, you’d better hurry.  I’m growing more attached by the day, and more than likely the prices will be going UP not down!

Scroll to the bottom for more photos.

Sizes:  The small one is about 4′ tall; the larger one is close to 5 1/2′ tall.

Price:  $125 for the small one; $165 for the large one.  Both for $250, plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax, of course.

Condition:  Very good.  However, they are metal and are outdoor pieces so there naturally is some rust on both of them, which is to be expected.

Shipping & Delivery:  Please see the tabs above 1) Details: Shipping & Delivery for mail order options, and 2) Supporting the Grief Warrior Project if you’d like an appointment to see the item(s) in person prior to purchase.

SOLD! Old Roofing Slates

We have between 3-4 dozen old roofing slates.  Most are in excellent condition with the original nail holes (given the fact that they are old), although there are some smaller, broken pieces.

The slate is presently located in Auburn, but will be moving to the Undercover Flea Market in Oxford at some point (when I get a chance to get up there).  To purchase prior to then, please contact Linda at LSnyder@regroupbiz.com.

Price:  $50 for all of it, plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax, of course.

Condition:  Mostly very good, given the type of item it is.

Pretty cool blue chest with “Mobil Oil” stenciled on it.  (I have no idea why or what the history is.) The chest has two drawers below (they’re somewhat “sticky”) and recessed metal handles on either side.

It is heavy, and would make a great gift for someone who enjoys working in his or her garage.

Price:  $45.00. Plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax, of course.

Condition:  Very good, for a vintage chest.  As noted above, the drawers are somewhat “sticky”.

An Old Fashioned Country Store in New England

Our new cover photo for our Facebook page and Facebook group is of a framed print I have that is not for sale.

John loved the idea of having an old-fashioned gathering place for men to hang out and shoot the breeze and tell stories… along with a classic “Liar’s Bench” from which any odd, strange and curious yarns could be told.  He was one of those immensely talented people who could spin tales for hours, with perfect timing and eliciting gasps of “No Kidding!”.  I’d often groan of course (isn’t that a wife’s job?), but truly loved to listen to him.

Every time I got a bench into the shop, though, it sold almost immediately.  I’ll keep this print as a reminder of … many things. (The store keeper in the back even looks a bit like John.  He had the blonde hair and mustache, although no beard in his later years.)

I’ll have to check more closely to find the artist’s name and possibly obtain more copies of this print for those who love the nostalgia.
