SOLD! Vintage White with Black Trim Enamel Saucepans

Here’s a nice set of used, vintage white with black trim enamelware: a small double boiler and a small saucepan.  One cover fits all three pans.

Condition:   The set is in good condition.  There is some minor staining inside, some rust on one of the handles, and tiny chips here and there – all to be expected.  (This has been updated because when I inspected them more carefully, I found more flaws than previously.)

Dimensions:  The largest pan is about 3″ H by 10″ L including the handle.

Price:  $20.00 for all.  Plus 5.5% Maine State Sales tax, of course.

Shipping & Delivery:  Please see the tabs above.

SOLD! Pair of Heavy Cast Iron Rooster Bookends or Door Stops

If you’re channeling the country decor theme, these are a perfect addition! Although, I would definitely use them as door stops or for some similar purpose rather than bookends, because they are identical, rather than mirror images which most bookends are.  And they’re heavy enough to hold a door, for sure!

Condition:   Very good.  There are some minor blemishes, which isn’t uncommon for old iron, but overall, Cock and Doodle (yes, I named them… just like I did on the farm, growing up) are in great shape.

Dimensions:  7″ H x 5″ W.

Price:  $28.00.  Plus 5.5% Maine State Sales tax, of course.

Shipping & Delivery:  Please see the tabs above.

Two Hand Drums and a Throwing Flower Eagle Tribal Drum (Smallest hand drum has been sold.)

NOTE:  The small hand drum has sold.

These drums came out of a home on the coast owned by a woman of great spirit.

The Tribal Eagle Drum by Throwing Flower is dated 1991, although the website shows they’re still being made.

I don’t know anything about the other two unfortunately, although the smaller one is clearly covered with animal hide.

Condition:  The two smaller drums are in very good condition.  The hide on the Eagle Drum has cracked & split on the front from age, and one of the stretchers on the back has separated; a second is about to.  It is, however, a beautiful piece, and carries its story in several ways as shown in the photos.

Please see pictures below for more information.

Dimensions:
Smallest hand drum: about 4.5″ in diameter.
Middle, more “classic-style” drum: about 7.5″ in diameter.
Eagle Drum: 16″ in diameter.

Price:  $120.00 for the two remaining drums.  Plus 5.5% Maine State Sales tax, of course.  Or buy them individually.
Middle, more “classic-style” drum: $40.00.
Eagle Drum: $95.00.  (It’s listed new on the website for $240.00.)

Shipping & Delivery:  Please see the tabs above.

1) Details: Shipping & Delivery for mail order options.

SOLD! Vintage, Reproduction, Cast Iron Dachshund Boot Scraper / Door Stop

Updated Information:  A reader pointed out that this is not an original because the photos clearly show a Phillips head screw holding the two sections together.  As I purchased this a decade ago from an auctioneer who described it as either “old” or “vintage” or “antique” (I no longer remember), and as I found this exact one listed as both “vintage” and “old” (and even “antique”) on many selling sites (including Worthpoint, which is the antiquer’s “bible”), I had no reason to believe it’s not at least 50 years old, which is the popular definition of “antique”.

It’s an interesting business, this vintage/antiques/collectibles one. As the owner of a high end shop where we once sold some of our inventory said to me several years ago, she’s been in the business for decades, and she still learns something new every day.  She added that it’s impossible for one person to know everything about vintage and antique items.

And just now, I showed the dachshund to someone who’s been in this business for decades as well.  He also pointed out the Phillips head screw… and added that this piece typically sells for $35.00-$45.00.  So my price is right on the mark.

In any event, I greatly appreciate the reader offering me a bit of her knowledge.

Thank you for looking!

Dachshunds were my husband’s favorite breed of dogs, and this boot scraper / door stop captures the breed’s long-nosed face perfectly.

Condition:   Very good.  There are some blemishes, which isn’t uncommon for old iron, but overall, Hans (my name for him) is in great shape.  He’s a little cutie, and you get a sense of the dachshund stubbornness and curiosity, as he waits (im)patiently for what comes next.

Dimensions:  14″ L x 5″ H at the tip of its curled tail.

Price:  $40.00.  Plus 5.5% Maine State Sales tax, of course.

Shipping & Delivery:  Please see the tabs above.

1) Details: Shipping & Delivery for mail order options.  (Shipping is not recommended given the weight of the inventory compared with its probable value.)
2) Supporting the Grief Warrior Project if you’d like an appointment to see the item(s) in person prior to purchase.

Wonderful Acrylic Crystal Ornaments for the Holidays (or Year Round) plus Hangers and Ideas.

Blessing of the Harvest - ornament with acrylic jewel - green & brown/gold

Blessing of the Harvest – ornament with acrylic jewel – green & brown/gold

These wonderful ornaments came from a gift shop down on the Cape somewhere that went out of business; we were thrilled when we got them at an auction.  There are three different kinds, as described below.  My favorite style is the one pictured above because of the gold/brown autumn colors.

They are too heavy for most Christmas trees but there are other ways to display them, as you can see from my photos.  I have quite a few in the waiting room of my other business, hanging from a 5′ tall white metal bird cage… they look fantastic there!

I also have some hanging from the black metal curly hanger things you’ll see in the photos below… I haven’t taken the time to properly install those hangers (either from the ceiling or a plant hanger arm), but they’d definitely look fabulous that way!

I even have an old Hendrix bird cage if you wanted to use it to hang ornaments and other decorations – although it’s much smaller than mine at 15″ high by 14″ wide!

Condition:  All are in “like new” condition, with the exception of the bird cage, which has been used and has a broken latch.

Pricing and Specific Descriptions:

1) Black metal curly hanger thingies – 2 for $9.00. There are 8 in all.

2) Blessing of the Harvest Acrylic Crystal Ornament – $7.00 each (about 42% off original price of $11.99), or buy 6 or more for just $4.00 each (67% off their original price).  We have about 50 of these in all.

3) Christmas Mistletoe “Kissing Crystal”, with an acrylic angel hanging rather than an acrylic crystal – $16.00 each (about 33% off the original price of $23.99), or buy the three we have left in stock for just $12.00 each (50% off).

4) Christmas Mistletoe “Kissing Crystal” with a cardinal perched in the branches, and an acrylic crystal – $16.00 each (about 33% off the original price of $23.99), or buy the two we have left in stock for just $12.00 each (50% off).

5) Hendrix bird cage – $15.00.

Because this is a business, there’s a 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax on all items sold to residents of Maine.

SOLD! Fluval Desk-Top Aquarium Fish Tank and More!

I frankly don’t know anything about this set up, except it came out of a high end home in Cape Elizabeth.  I’d thought to have a nice, calming fish tank in the office but it’s never going to happen.  I barely have time to water my plants, say nothing about trying to keep some poor fish alive.

What I do know is that the various components here originally added up to a fair sum.  I won’t even try to describe the specifics other than provide a general list of them.  It seems best to just show the photos and hopefully you’ll agree that the price I’m asking is fair for what you’re getting.

The set up includes the Fluval bow sided tank (5 gallon?), a Fluval aquarium light, a Tetra Bubbling Kit, aquarium pebbles, plants and so forth.

Condition:   Unknown.  Given the source, I imagine everything works as it should; that was certainly what I thought when I brought it back along with other items from that sale.  However, I’d be happy to let you test it all out just to make certain.

Dimensions:  The tank is roughly 14″ x 13″ x 13″, which seems to make it a 5 gallon tank.

Price:  $70.00.  Plus 5.5% Maine State Sales tax, of course.

Shipping & Delivery:  Please see the tabs above.

SOLD! SALE! Take 50% Off Posted Price! MCM Kidney-Shaped Vanity with Mirror

Sale!  New Inventory Coming, and We Really Need the Room…

50% Off, Friday 12/18-Sunday 12/20 ONLY!

This is a nice little Mid Century Modern (1940s-50s era) kidney-shaped vanity with mirror.

However, unlike the Aristo-Bilt kidney desk & chair set previously posted, this vanity has Queen Anne style legs instead of straight ones.

The vanity also has two raised drawers on top, and apparently the mirror was originally attached (the screw holes on back of each of the drawers on top indicate some kind of frame for the mirror).

The mirror shows where the framing held it vertically, instead of how it’s now resting horizontally on the vanity.  The auction house that sold it to me said it came without the frame, which apparently was a fairly large piece as you can see when looking down on the top drawers… there are lines showing where that frame rested, in addition to being attached behind those drawers.  One of the small drawers contains a drawer pull larger than but identical to those presently attached to the piece, which adds to the minor mystery.

Condition:   Very good, but needs to be cleaned up due to age, use and dings.  The large drawer is rather a mess inside. Although the set isn’t perfect, it would perk right up and look at home in most bedrooms (or large baths) once refinished.

Dimensions:  The desk is 36″ W x 17″ D x 30″ H.

Price:  $125.00.  Plus 5.5% Maine State Sales tax, of course.

Shipping & Delivery:  Please see the tabs above.

Wonderful Black Resin Thai Dragon

This great little dragon has sat on a shelf in my office along with Buddhas, gargoyles, and other cool items since picking him up at a recent auction.  I adore him, but as with most items this business obtains, he’s meant to go to another home.  Perhaps yours?

Condition:   Excellent, like new condition.

Dimensions:  Burt (I know, it’s an odd name for a Thai dragon, but that’s what I’ve called him) is about 8.5″ long and 4.5″ high.

Price:  $18.00.  Plus 5.5% Maine State Sales tax, of course.

Shipping & Delivery:  Please see the tabs above.

SOLD! Small Critter Cage with Accessories

Nice little cage for small critters.  Top opens on either side as seen in the photo.

Condition:   Used.  Seems in decent, usable condition.  Pretty dusty from being stored in my garage.  Was not mine originally, so I don’t know anything about its history.  I would suggest a good bleaching and air drying before putting your gerbil or hamster in it.

Dimensions:  Forgot to measure, but it’s probably about 18″ long.

Price:  $18.00 for cage and contents.  Plus 5.5% Maine State Sales tax, of course.

Shipping & Delivery:  Please see the tabs above.
