Check us out on AuctionNinja.com! Heritage Collectibles has several auctions coming up in the next few weeks and this item is just one of hundreds that will be auctioned off!
You’ll find this in the auction named “An Eclectic Mix of Vintage & Contemporary – From a Closed Maine Shop, Part 1“. Auction ends Friday evening, October 28, 2022. Once that auction is over, this item will be gone for good!
Description:
Okay, so it’s a silly blog title. But you’ve got to admit, this is a rustic rooster rack, likely handmade, and “Rusty” works. Right?
I don’t know if it was supposed to be a magazine rack as the auction house called it, or if perhaps it was more likely used as a catchall for old newspapers before they got thrown into the woodstove. That would have been my guess.
Dimensions: About 18″ from beak to tail x 13″ high by 10 1/2″ deep. It’s bigger than it may seem on first glance.
Condition: What you see is what you get. This appears to have been handmade. It’s rustic – it doesn’t have a “polished” look to it. But it’s solid.
More Photos: See below!
By the way, if you like classy nude art (like we do), check out our other website: www.nude.boutique.
Like a couple of other items I’ve picked up recently, this would make a great gift for that special someone!
Condition: As shown in the photos and the description above. Structurally it’s sound and very sturdy. Due to its age, there are some small issues, such as the letter “m” missing from the name Bingham on one side of the hard hat shade. And it’s a bit grubby. But man, is this cool or what?

Description:
Can you imagine? I can, because I grew up with an old-fashioned wringer washing machine. Readers who’ve been following this site for a while may remember a reference to the scars I have from that machine – and the time my teenaged waist-length hair got caught in that wringer!
Anyway, I doubt anyone will actually want to use this extremely heavy, rather awkward wood & metal hand wringer nowadays, but wow! What a great reminder of how wonderful modern appliances are.
The piece came via an auction in Vermont, so I have this vision of a farming mom from 100 years ago, in her cotton dress and apron, laboring over it on wash day. (Note the statement on the piece that it’s “Warranted 3 Years for Family Use”.
Condition: It seems to be in great condition for its age, although I haven’t actually tried to wring the water out of anything with it. The wood appears to be all intact, and there’s not much rust on the steel/metal parts.
Dimensions: 17” high x 17” wide, plus another 11 inches with the handle. It’s about 7″ deep

Description:
This is a nice, sweet little chair just waiting for a good home. Yours, perhaps?
It’s a good size; not overly large, but very useful and able to be moved around as needed.
Condition: It’s in very good, clean, condition. The arms are a bit worn as shown in the photos below, but it’s sturdy with no rips, tears or stains noted.
Dimensions: 24″ wide x 35″ at its highest point (and 16″ to the top of the seat) x 22″ deep.

In memory of my beloved husband John K Snyder… 20 Sept 1956 – 21 Oct 2016.
He loved our shops, especially the section we called Heritage Books, Maps & Ephemera – that was his baby. Johnny was an avid reader, who loved the feel of real books in his hands… history was his forte, but in true Renaissance Man fashion, John knew a lot about a great many subjects. He would often be so fascinated by a book he was reading that he would excitedly read aloud passages to me, so we could discuss the ideas contained therein.
He loved me like crazy, and oh how I loved him.
Follow our blog at https://warrior-project.org, in honor of my husband, and all others who have been lost to internal demons that in the end, overwhelmed them.
All of the profits after expenses from Heritage Collectibles, Books & Maps will go to help fund The Grief Warrior Project, a suicide prevention drop-in and counseling center in the process of being developed, although it has been in hiatus during the pandemic. I’m hoping to begin working on this again during the spring of 2022.
(Please Note: The Grief Warrior Project is in no way intended to be reflective of, or piggy back off, Wounded Warriors which serves those military personnel wounded after September 11, 2001. Like too many others, John was a warrior long before then.)

I found this desk way in the back of my garage; I’d long forgotten it was there! It’s a one piece deal that doesn’t have a drawer but is in really good shape. It’s probably meant for kids who are about 5-12 years old? (My grandson is 4 and small for his age, so I’m having a hard time judging.)
Condition: Very good.
