Like most art, antiques & collectibles shops we get several inquiries a week from people who either want us to appraise their individual items or collections, or who want to discuss selling or consigning their collections to our shop.
And like most other shops, we’ve found we have to set aside specific times when we’ll be available to talk…. it’s really hard to concentrate when someone shows up with a boxful of their valuables, but we also have customers on-site who want our attention as well (and our customers MUST come first!), or if we’re just closing, or whatever the case might be.
Beginning this week, we will be setting up Sunday-only appointments for collection assessments and/or consignment discussions. (We cannot do actual appraisals, especially for insurance purposes, but we can certainly give good estimates of the value of your items or collections.)

Main Location: Heritage Collectibles at 189 Main Street, Lewiston ME 04240.
Hours: Usually 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Thursdays & Fridays, 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturdays and occasionally 12:00 noon to 4:oo pm on Sundays. We’re also often open until 7:00 pm on Fridays (especially the last Friday of the month which is ArtWalk night from May-September).
And we try to be open Mondays & Tuesdays from 9:00 am-1:00 pm, although that’s a bit tougher for us.
Our hours vary depending on the demands of our day jobs (Linda is a social worker, and John is the post press supervisor at the local newspaper), whether we are exhibiting at a show (rare nowadays), or are attending an auction we just don’t want to miss! Your best bet is to call us first to make sure we’ll be there, or to make an appointment. We do try to post our hours each day on the shop’s door, and on this blog.

Most of the items we offer are vintage, antique or simply pre-owned. Therefore, reasonable wear & tear is to be expected, and our items are sold as seen and as described in the photos and/or in person.
We try to describe any damage, nicks, blemishes or other problems of which we are aware in any and all of our listings, and always include plenty of clear photographs which are integral to the description, so please review them closely.
Also, please be aware that vintage and antique items are unlikely to be in factory condition, so if you aren’t used to buying antique or vintage items – and are in fact looking for a pristine, unused item – a new reproduction may be better suited for you.
We ordinarily do not “clean up” items because such cleaning may detract from their value.
We are specific and honest in our descriptions because we want happy buyers who will return and/or refer their friends!
