This is a gorgeous piece of antique wood furniture… I just wish I knew what kind of wood it is. If you look closely at the photos, you’ll see the patterns, colors and swirls in the wood that really make this piece stand out. The stand has a number of interested features from the almost mission style sides and front legs that rise above the top surface, to the cut-out back panel that keeps your valuables from falling off.
However, like too many antiques, it’s borne some surface damage over the years. I don’t know anything about refinishing furniture, but if done well, when the blemishes on top are cleaned up, you will have a truly beautiful piece, worth passing down through future generations.
Condition: As shown in the photos and the description above. Structurally it’s sound and very sturdy. The narrow panel under the drawer needs either tacking or regluing as it’s loose on the right side facing the stand. Due to its age, there are some obvious blemishes as well as minor scratches in the wood. As you can also see, it’s a bit dusty and could use some furniture polish.
Dimensions: 19 inches wide by 9 inches deep (except the drawer knobs another 3/4 of an inch to the depth). The height to the first shelf is 10 inches; to the second shelf is another 10 inches. Overall the stand is about 36″ tall including the back lip.
FIRM Price: $75.00, plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax for $4.13, for a total of $79.13.
Unless we’re having a sale, which would be listed here, our prices are firm.
Our Apologies, But Holds Over 24 Hours Must Now Provide a 50% Deposit: As we’ve gotten busier, I’m spending a great deal of time juggling multiple requests for the same item. Most of the time, something comes up in the customer’s life that prevents him or her from getting here, but sometimes I never do hear from them again. And in the meantime, other customers who are asking about the item end up moving on when the chair or art or garden statue or whatever isn’t immediately available. So without a deposit, I’ll now have to implement a First Come, First Served policy.
Shipping & Delivery: Free local pickup. We can deliver within Lewiston-Auburn for a $10.00 delivery fee, or Gray/Portland (along the 202 Route, or just off it) early Wednesday mornings for the same $10.00. Shipping probably would be about $50.00 so isn’t recommended unless you really want it, of course!
