We found these sweet little calico cats at the estate sale of a local child psychologist who died a few years back, and with whom I’d had some previous work-related conversations. 

He was an avid collector of a wide array of interesting items from cats to cookie jars to radios, as well as a talented artist and photographer in his own right.

The 3 hand-painted Lefton cats pictured here are from 1985, and – it seems – fairly rare.  I’ve found few instances of them on-line, either sold or for sale.  The prices listed are slightly less than the actual sold prices I found.

George Zoltan Lefton was a Hungarian immigrant who apparently was originally a designer and manufacturer of sportswear, but eventually began producing his ceramic designs such as these lovely, collectible kitties.

Condition:  All pieces are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.

Dimensions:  
Upright kitty:  about 5.5″ tall x 4.5″ wide
Watchful kitty:  about 5.5″ long x 3″ tall
Sleeping kitty: about 5.5″ long x 1.5″ tall

Price:  Individually, they are $28.00 each plus $1.54 Maine State Sales Tax each. 
As a set, $74.00 for all three.   Plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax of $4.07 for a total of $78.07.
