We’re excited to offer this antique barn drill which was also known as a post & beam boring machine. This piece was made in the early 1800’s… it’s nearly 200 years old!
The wooden framework is solid – it’s neither busted nor rotted. There is a gear on one side that slides in and out that allows you to crank the rigging back to the top to the safety lock position. Overall in great condition. Would be a great display in any collection, could easily be refinished, or displayed, or used as is.
Includes a wooden hinged box that was made to hold 8 auger bits. The box has 5 of its original bits.
Condition: As you can see in the pictures, the wooden framework is solid – it’s neither busted nor rotted although the right rear horizontal frame member has a crack in it. However the piece is still strong and stable. Overall, it’s in great condition given its age.
Price: Now just $195! (Was $235.00.) Plus Maine sales tax of 5.5%.

In memory of my beloved husband John K Snyder… 20 Sept 1956 – 21 Oct 2016.
He loved our shops, especially Heritage Books, Maps & Ephemera – it was his baby.
He loved me, and oh how I loved him.
Is this barn drill still for sale? I am interested.
