SOLD! Copper Trench Art Bank

  Trench Art Bank

According to Wikipedia, “trench art is any decorative item made by soldiers, prisoners of war or civilians where the manufacture is directly linked to armed conflict or its consequences”.

This metal bank is a good example of trench art.  The piece appears to have originally been a projectile or part of one, and is made of heavy copper.  It has pipe taper screw bases at both ends and a hand made coin slot at the top.

In memory of my beloved husband John K Snyder… 20 Sept 1956 – 21 Oct 2016.
He loved our shops, especially Heritage Books, Maps & Ephemera – it was his baby.

He loved me, and oh how I loved him.
