SOLD! 1950s/Early 60s Era Student Desk

We just got in this wonderful old (1950s/early 60s era) student desk from a gentleman who had it throughout his childhood until about an hour ago when I took it away.

It’s clearly been well-loved – despite the attempt to spiff it up with some additional paint – but is in excellent structural shape.  It’s pretty lightweight; I’m not very tall or particularly strong (since age & arthritis are doing a number on me) but I can easily carry it.

The desk has two small cubbies on top (the little boxes in each corner) and a single long drawer, as well as space below for books or other storage.

Condition:  Structurally, it’s in very good shape.  It does need to be refinished, as you can see.  Or you can just love it the way it is.

Dimensions:  30″H x 33″W x 18″D.

SOLD! Excellent Quality Classic Wingback in Silvery Green

Stunning, classic wingback!  This chair was quality made – take a look at the brass studs lining the arms and back.

The coloring is a little unusual what with the silvery green, but it is nonetheless a wonderful chair!

Condition:  Excellent.  It does have a couple of small dirt smudges as seen in the photo below, but otherwise, it’s a great chair in wonderful condition.

Dimensions:  About 37″H (to the top of the back) x 30″W x 32″D.  The seat is just 14″ off the floor.

SOLD! Wonderful, Solid Oak Coffee Table – But Needs to Be Refinished

Our oak coffee table is solid and in great structural condition.  It just needs to be refinished to be returned to its original beauty.

Condition:  Structurally, excellent.  However, the top was apparently poorly taken care of, and needs to be refinished.

These two over-sized end tables have seen better days, as you can tell from the pictures below.  They’re particle board so you know what that means in terms of quality, and they definitely have some dings and bruises.

But if you’re starting out or for some other reason need very low cost furniture with storage, these should do the trick, especially given the price.

SOLD! Comfy Chair in Green Velveteen

Here’s another of our wicked comfy chairs that’s sure to walk out the door as soon as this blog gets posted.  (We have a small sitting area that ordinarily has a couple of comfortable chairs in it… but they never stay very long before someone grabs them!  Right now this sitting area also has a nice red & white wing back, as you can see in the pictures below.)

Condition:  Excellent.  Some of the photos may look like there’s a ring in the seat, but that’s just a temporary indentation from a bowl that was placed on the chair overnight.

Dimensions:  About 36″H (to the top of the back) x 30″W x 24″D.

SOLD! Blue Wicker Planter? Not Sure, Although We’ve Used It To Hold LP Albums

This is a cute little wicker thing, although we aren’t really sure what it is.  As the title of this post says, we’ve used it to hold LPs, which it works pretty well for.  I suspect it would look fabulous with a large asparagus fern or spider plant growing out of it!

GONE! Another Inexpensive Entertainment Center – NOW FREE and In Front of the Shop!

Here we go again!  We’ve found ourselves in possession of yet another piece of furniture that we’d like to get rid of FAST!  Several people have looked at it, but unfortunately didn’t take it… and we’re a bit tired of dragging it in and out of the shop on those days when we’re open.

SO IT’S NOW FREE!  Please come and get it.  We’ll be open today (the 12th) until about 4:00, on Monday from about 11:30-1:00, Tuesday from 10:00-1:00, Thursday from 10:00 to 1:00 and Friday the 18th from 10:00-4:00.  We can only put it outside when the shop is open, so you must come for it during those times!

This is a nice little entertainment center that has some obvious damage (apparently a plant sitting on top of it leaked several times). And the plexi glass door sometimes sticks.

But the price is right!  So, come on in and take it away!

By the way, we have a second entertainment center almost identical to this one in storage that’s in better shape.  That one will be $10.00 or free with $50.00 in other purchases.  As soon as I can dig it out and haul it over here, that is.

Condition:  It’s made of that particle board stuff – not real wood – so when the plant leaked on it, the particle board got pretty damaged as you can see from the picture below.

Dimensions:  45″H x 22″W x 20.5″D.

SOLD! 1950s Golden Wheat Pattern Dishes

We have a small selection of 1950s era Golden Wheat pattern dishes.

The selection consists of 21 tea cups, 10 flat saucers, 14 rounded saucers, 6 bread plates, 12 small bowls and one slightly larger one.  This of course is not a complete set by any stretch but would be useful in completing a set with missing pieces.

Condition:  While most of the dishes & cups are in good shape, some have small chips and/or cracks.
