SOLD! About 5 Dozen Chicken Soup for the Soul Books (Includes Some Duplicates)

We now have slightly more than 5 dozen Chicken Soup for the Soul Books!  To be exact, there are 62 different books, with 38 different titles (we have several duplicates).  There are 7 hardcovers.

What a great collection for a teacher, a therapist or social worker, or anyone who works with people!  (I’m still unpacking boxes and may find more, so will update this soon.  I’ll try to get a list of the exact titles, too.)

Sorry about the wiggly lines in some of the photos… I’m pretty bad at keeping the camera steady while taking panoramic shots!

Keep scrolling for more pictures!

Condition:  Most are in great, like new condition.

Price:   $2.00 each for the paperbacks; $3.00 for the hardcovers.  $98.00 for the entire lot of 62 books (a $30 price reduction), as I just noticed that some have frayed edges.  (Plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax, of course).

Set of 14 Dave Barry Books – One of the Funniest Guys Out There

Funny guy Dave Barry has been writing for decades.  Here are a few of his quips (as found on Google):

You can only be young once. But you can always be immature.
If you had to identify, in one word, the reason why the human race has not achieved, and never will achieve, its full potential, that word would be ‘meetings.
Dogs feel very strongly that they should always go with you in the car, in case the need should arise for them to bark violently at nothing right in your ear.
Nobody cares if you can’t dance well. Just get up and dance.
The four building blocks of the universe are fire, water, gravel and vinyl.
A person who is nice to you, but rude to the waiter, is not a nice person.
Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital ingredient in beer.
Never under any circumstances take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.
People who want to share their religious views with you almost never want you to share yours with them.
Once again, we come to the Holiday Season, a deeply religious time that each of us observes, in his own way, by going to the mall of his choice.

Anyway, we have an assortment of his books in our humor section.  Buy them individually, or the entire lot for a seriously great price!

Bad Habits … $2.00 (paperback)
Book of Bad Songs … $3.00 (hardcover)
Complete Guide to Guys … $4.00 (hardcover)
Greatest Hits… $2.00 (mass market paperback)
I’ll Mature When I’m Dead … $2.00 (hardcover)
In Cyberspace … $2.00 (hardcover)
Insane City… $3.00 (trade paperback)
Is From Mars and Venus … $2.00 (paperback)
Is Not Making This Up … $2.00 (paperback)
Slept Here – A Sort of History of the United States … $2.00 (paperback)
Talks Back … $2.00 (hardcover)
Turns 50 … $2.00 (paperback)

And we’ll even through in paperback edition of Dave Barry’s Complete Guide to Guys and his Book of Bad Songs, valued at about $2.00 each.

Condition:  Mostly very good!

Price:   $21.00 for all 12 books (2 others, paperback duplicates as noted above, thrown in).  Or as individually priced above.  (plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax, of course).

SOLD! What a Great Little Pine Jelly Cabinet!

This is a great little pine jelly cabinet.  It’s lightweight but solid.

Condition: Very good.  It has a couple of minor dings here and there but overall, it’s quite a nice piece.

Dimensions:   The cabinet is about 4’H x 2’W x 6″D – that’s just an “off the top of my head estimate” from home, as I forgot to get the measurements while at the shop.

Price: $50.00 (plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax, of course).

Location:  This item can be found in our shop at 189 B Main Street in Lewiston.  (The entrance is at the back of the building, off Park Street.)   We apologize but because of the demands of my social work job, we’re only open (most) Saturdays and by appointment at this location.

***************

NOTE:  With the exception of books, maps & music, most of our antique and other inventory can now be found at one of the great antique shops or flea markets listed here:  https://heritagecollectiblesmaine.com/details-hours/

For those dying to check out the revamped Heritage Collectibles, Books & Maps, we are still in the same building, but our new entrance is at the back of that building.  You’ll see some signs in the windows saying “Heritage Collectibles”, “Retail Shop” and “Welcome”!

Just turn off Main Street in Lewiston onto Park Street and park in the first available parking spot.  The entrance is through the door at the end of the building on the right hand side.  You’ll see signs in the windows (“Retail Store” and “Heritage Collectibles” and “Antiques” as well as others; you’ll also see my silver Jeep Liberty parked there.  You’ll also see our “Open” flag flying!

7000 Words Often Mispronounced – With Supplement of 1400 Words, 1899

7000 Words Often Mispronounced – With Supplement of 1400 Words, Phyfe.  1899

Wow… this is a fun book, and it surprisingly has proper names such as Katahdin and Kennebec in it.  (Although back in 1899, Kennebec was apparently correctly pronounced with the accent on the final syllable, not the first!)

Condition:  Fair.  The binding is somewhat fragile with some breaks although it’s still intact.  There are a few rips and tears, and a bit of staining.  Otherwise, the book the covers are intact and it seems all of the pages are as well.  See pictures above.

Price:   $7.00 (plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax, of course).
