Possible Delivery Options in the Next Week or So – February 08-14, 2021

Because we sometimes travel throughout Maine and New Hampshire to pick up new inventory, we thought perhaps our customers would like to know if we plan to be near their area at any time, in order to deliver heavier or more fragile items for less than a shipping company might charge.

So here’s a quick overview of some upcoming travel. We’ll try to stay on top of this in case it’s helpful for you! (The above photo is of our constant travel companions.)

Please Note Our Delivery Fees: Generally, our delivery charge is $10.00 around town (Lewiston/Auburn) or anywhere along a route we might be traveling on. (It can take time to package up inventory to be able to deliver it to you safely, and then time to go out of our way and actually do the delivery.) If you’re more than about a mile off the route we’re traveling on, there’s an additional cost of $1.98 per mile that we have to travel off our route.

On Monday, February 8th, I’ll be heading to Ossipee (NH) around 7:30 am, and returning to Lewiston by 11:00 or so.

For the rest of the week I’ll be working at my office management business, out of my own office (where some of our inventory is stored) or at my clients’ offices… all in Lewiston (ME). If you’d like to pick up an item, I’m more than happy to be here for you, but need a specific time so I can make sure I’m available. (And of course, I do have meetings via Zoom that are conducted from my office, and which I must be in full attendance for!) However, I always spend Wednesdays with my 3 year old grandson, so unless there’s no other option, I don’t go in to the office, or do sales other than dropping off on my way to Portland to pick him up.

On Saturday, February 13th, I’ll almost certainly be headed to Brunswick (ME) at some point to check on our display case at Cabot Mill Antiques, although I don’t yet know what time that will be.

Please Note: If we do have to deviate from our planned route i.e. by driving 10 miles out of our way, it would require adjusting our time schedule somewhat, meaning we’d have to leave earlier in order to still arrive at our destination on time.

Any and all items plus delivery charges must be paid for in advance.

75 Vintage Copies of Gas Engine Magazine

These were my father’s. Most are in near perfect condition although a couple are pretty beat up.

Some years, the magazine produced 6 issues; other years, 12; and some years it varied. Without researching, I can’t be sure of what may be missing, but I think the list below will give a good sense of that.

1993 – 1 issue (March)
1992 – 5 issues (January, February, July, September & October)
1990 – 5 issues (January-May only)
1989 – 10 issues (missing February and October)
1988 – 11 issues (missing September)
1987 – 10 issues (missing April and June)
1986 – 11 issues (missing June)
1985 – 9 issues (missing only September)
1983 – 5 issues (missing only the March/April issue)
1982 – 2 issues (January & February only)
1980 – 6 issues (all months intact)
1975 – 2 issues (September & October only)

For some reason this adds up to 77 but I only counted 75 actual magazines.

$150.00 for all. I’m afraid I don’t have time to break these up into smaller sets but if you insist, I can do that for $5.00 an issue. (Not such a good deal!)

Thanks!

FIRM Price:  $150.00.  Because I own these personally (and not part of the business), there’s no sales tax on these magazines.

Unless we’re having a sale, which would be listed here, our prices are firm.

Shipping & Delivery:
Free local pickup at my office in Lewiston (by appointment).  I can deliver within Lewiston-Auburn for a $10.00 delivery fee, or Gray/Portland (along the 202 Route, or just off it) early Wednesday mornings for the same $10.00.  Shipping would be by actual cost, plus a $10.00 handling fee.  (I should be able to send them via media mail which is a whole lot cheaper, but takes a lot longer.)

Buying Details:  I’m pretty low tech.  Payment can be made via PayPal, good check (please allow 1 week to clear if not known to us) or cash.

Small Painted Red Shelf – A Very Nice Reproduction!

I have one similar to this at home, and just love it!  It doesn’t take up a lot of room (unlike the much larger one I also have) but is very handy for the types of things one uses frequently – and even for a fruit bowl!

This is a reproduction, meaning it’s not old.  But neither are either of mine, and I’m very happy with both.

Please note: It’s less than 4 feet high.  This is not a tall piece.  If you want it higher off the floor, a good pairing could be with a small dresser (https://heritagecollectiblesmaine.com/2021/02/03/cute-little-white-dresser-with-great-hardware/), or even our two small side tables  (https://heritagecollectiblesmaine.com/2021/01/30/two-nice-solid-wood-side-tables-or-occasional-stands-probably-mid-century/ ), any of which could be repainted to match.

Condition:  It’s in good, clean condition.  More photos coming soon.

Dimensions:  42″H x 22″W x 9.5″D. Not old.

FIRM Price:  $68.00. Plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax of $3.74 for a total of $71.74.

Unless we’re having a sale, which would be listed here, our prices are firm.

Shipping & Delivery:
Free local pickup at my office in Lewiston (by appointment).  We can deliver within Lewiston-Auburn for a $10.00 delivery fee, or Gray/Portland (along the 202 Route, or just off it) early Wednesday mornings for the same $10.00.  Shipping is $12.00.

SOLD! Very Solid Wooden Printer or Dorm Fridge Stand with Shelf

Like much inexpensive but heavy duty, you-assemble-it-yourself, furniture nowadays this is particle board or some such wood-type material.  It’s heavy and it’s solid.  As you can see, I used a hand truck to bring it in to the office, rather than just carrying it.

This was previously used as a printer stand, but I can see using it to get a small dorm-sized refrigerator off the floor and up higher where it’s easier to get at things.  This would certainly make a good stand for anyone in college, or for a beer fridge out in the mudroom.  Or, use it in the office for a printer stand!  (Great idea!)

Condition:  It’s in good, clean condition.  In one of the photos, you can see I replaced the shelf backwards, which I eventually noticed and put in correctly.

Dimensions: Here’s another item I neglected to measure before heading home, but my estimate is that it’s just over two feet high, 18″ wide, and 18″ deep.

FIRM Price:  $20.00. Plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax of $1.10 for a total of $21.10.

6 Vintage Porcelain Napkin Rings with Lovely Roses

These 6 vintage porcelain napkin rings are just lovely – and in perfect condition especially given how delicate they are.

Most of my cloth napkins were so used years ago that they’re now in the rag bin. But these rings could dress up even paper towels!

Condition:  Excellent.

Dimensions:  They’re small; about 1 1/2 inches or so long.

FIRM Price:  $15.00. Plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax of $.83 for a total of $15.83.

Unless we’re having a sale, which would be listed here, our prices are firm.

Location & Purchasing: This set is located in our display case (#27) at Cabot Mill Antiques, Fort Andross, 14 Maine Street, Brunswick ME. You can purchase directly through them by visiting that beautiful shop, 7 days a week from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm (7:00 pm on Fridays).

Alternatively, if you don’t mind waiting a bit:

Shipping & Delivery: Because this item is on display 20 miles from us, I may not even know for several days (usually over a weekend) whether or not an item is still available, but if it is, I can bring it back to Lewiston for you the next time I’m in Brunswick updating our display. At that point, you’d be able to take advantage of local pick up at my office (by appointment only), or I can get it delivered to you per the next paragraph.

We can deliver within Lewiston-Auburn most days, or along the Lewiston-Lisbon-Topsham-Brunswick route (dates vary), for a $10.00 delivery fee, or Gray/Portland (along the 202 Route, or just off it) early Wednesday mornings for the same $10.00.

Shipping is $12.00.

Sold! Great Little 60s Style Green Hassock!

Remember the red painted coffee table and matching bookcase we posted a few days ago, saying they would be great in a playroom or family room?  Well, why not add this little green hassock in to the mix!

Everyone needs a lime green hassock.  Right?  Of course!

Condition:  It’s in good, clean condition.  The photos below show all sides – and yes, they do all look the same! – well, except for the area with the zipper along with the seam.

Dimensions: It’s small (thank goodness) at about 11 1/2 inches high by 12 inches wide at its highest across across the top.  It tapers to a smaller footprint at its base, so is only 10 inches wide across the bottom

FIRM Price:  $18.00. Plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax of $.99 for a total of $18.99.

SOLD! Vintage Formica Top Table

Well, if you’re really eager to purchase an old Formica table – and just missed out on the bidding for a truly stunning table and chairs set (because I was traveling at the time it came up to bid) – then sometimes you end up settling for what you can get.

But!  It’s an old Formica table!  And once cleaned up and set up, it will be wonderful!

Condition:  It’s actually in pretty good condition; I just can’t seem to stop comparing it with the set I missed out on (which will probably go for around $700-$800 or so).  There are no chips or cracks in the table top, so that’s a real plus.

The table is missing a leaf as well as the lock mechanism underneath that keeps the two sides together.  That’s unlikely to be an issue once it’s set up, but does make moving the table a bit tricky if you’re doing so by yourself.

The legs, which have been detached (I didn’t look for the screws or wingnuts but don’t remember seeing any) appear to be in good shape overall, although rusty on the bottom.

Dimensions: The table is about 35″ wide by 50″ long.  The legs are about 27 inches long, which would make the table about 29″ high once attached.

FIRM Price:  $94.00. Plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax of $5.17 for a total of $99.17.

Shipping would be expensive; easily as much as the cost of the table itself.

For other options, please review our most recent blog on Possible Delivery Options in the Next Week (use the search feature), or our Shipping & Delivery page at https://heritagecollectiblesmaine.com/details-shipping-information/.

SOLD! Small Victorian Mahogany “Grape Back” Side Chair

Oops… every now and then we make a mistake when purchasing an item without having first inspected it.

This is a wonderful old Victorian “grapeback” style chair, the hardwood top of which is intricately carved with grapes and leaves.  It’s on the smaller side, so would fit easily in an unused area.  And it’s adorable with muted colors.  But…

Condition:  The bottom (underneath) has given way, and the springs are popping out as you’ll see in the photos below  Someone who has any upholstery experience will probably know exactly what to do to make repairs and turn this into an absolutely wonderful addition to their home, but that someone is not me.

Otherwise, it really is in good shape.

Dimensions:    Our small Victorian grape back chair is 16 1/2 inches deep in the seat and about 24 inches deep overall. The front of the seat is about 23 inches wide. At its narrowest it’s about 19 inches wide.  Overall it’s about 39 inches high.

FIRM Price:  $35.00. Plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax of $1.65 for a total of $31.63.

Shipping is $50.00.
