This room divider is just beautiful – a perfect addition to any ocean-side home or camp, or perhaps for someone who misses the salt air and is stuck inland. The scene depicted is the same on both sides.

Condition: I found no flaws or blemishes on this, despite being wicked nervous that something would happen while transporting it 35 miles with a load of other furniture.

Dimensions: 68″ high. Each of the 3 panels is 15 1/2″ wide, for a total of nearly 4 feet wide when fully extended.

SOLD! Here’s a Nice Little Mid Century Record Cabinet – Updated, Price Reduced

UPDATED: I didn’t notice that this cabinet is a bit wobbly, until it was leaned on a bit. Although it seems structurally sound, there is a wobble. Someone inquiring asked how much of a wobble, and I had to tell him it’s purely a matter of perspective. It depends on what your level of acceptability for such things is. This is one of those inexpensive pieces from the mid century. I doubt it was ever intended to be the sturdiest piece of furniture out there… remember, MCM furniture was a reaction to the heavier, more ornate pieces of previous decades. However, rather than disappoint my customers, I’ve reduced the price on this piece. See below.

If you’re looking for another piece to add to your Mid Century Modern ambience, here’s a great little record cabinet. It’s a classic style MCM cabinet, with the dividers to keep your albums organized.

Condition: It’s in pretty good shape, especially considering the lightweight materials so many of these MCM pieces were made of. The doors slide well (although they pop out rather easily like every other MCM cabinet I’ve seen), the legs are in good shape and the top only has a couple of dings. There is some kind of damage on the inside right hand corner that I haven’t examined so am not sure what that’s all about.

Dimensions: 26 1/2″H by 14″ deep by 23″ wide..

Condition: Visually, the chair looks fabulous. Structurally it’s in good shape, except you can see where the left arm (facing the chair) has been repaired.

Adorable Chair with Painted Vines & Lady Bugs to Use As a Plant Stand! – From Our Lawn & Garden Shop.

I have a few old chairs that I use outside in my gardens as plant stands – this would fit right in with them! How cute is it, anyway? Look at the little ladybugs scattered here and there!

The chair is signed underneath and dated, by the lady who did the artwork. Given that it’s 36+ years old, I think it’s fabulous!

Condition: Structurally and visually it’s in very good condition, except for an area of the seat which shows signs of cracking. Of course, that’s where a plant would be sitting, so the breakage wouldn’t show anyway.

Dimensions: 14″ wide by 14.5″ deep x 33″ high. It’s 18″ to the top of the seat.

SOLD! Black Dahlia – Still Unsolved Murder After Almost 75 Years

I barely remembered having heard of this case when the framed newspaper articles shown here came up at an auction the other day. After all, this happened a good decade before I was born. As it turns out, it was a pretty gruesome murder. Terribly tragic.

According to Google, the case is important because: Her life and death have been the basis of numerous books and films, and her murder is frequently cited as one of the most famous unsolved murders in American history, as well as one of the oldest unsolved cases in Los Angeles County.

Condition: It’s an old newspaper in an inexpensive plastic frame. Given this, it’s in good condition.

Dimensions: I think it’s 18″ wide by 28″ high, but will have to measure. Sorry!

Mr Spock Plush Doll

As I mentioned in my previous post, although Kirk was wicked cute, it was Spock who stole my heart as a pre-teenager. Nothing much has changed since then. (On ST:TNG, my late husband and I adored Worf, and in fact, I have the Spock and Worf figures he got me, and which added to our collection of Star Trek memorabilia.)

This Spock isn’t as cool as the Spock Build-A-Bear on the previous post, but seriously… it’s SPOCK!

I was just telling a potential customer that I couldn’t remember the term for a six sided figure and had to look it up. (The auction house called this “octagonal” but it’s only 6 sides so is a hexagon!)

Anyway, it’s a very nice late mid century or early 70s piece. The glass inset comes out easily for cleaning.

Condition: It’s in very good used condition, with some of the minor blemishes one would expect and that I’ve shown in the photos.

Wonderful Set of Brass Edged End Tables

I love these brass edged side or end tables… they would fit in extremely well with a few other pieces I own that evoke images of Hemingway and libraries and understated strength. However, I have no room for them so off to another home they must go!

Each has a built in electrical cord, although I haven’t quite figured that out yet. It’s probably quite obvious to someone else, but I haven’t checked them over carefully enough to know. Perhaps there’s a small light in the cabinet?

Condition: They’re in very good used condition, with some of the minor blemishes one would expect.

Dimensions: 17.5″ deep by 22.5″ high x 22″ wide.
