Super Cool! “The Mammoth Book of Zombie Comics”

The Mammoth Book of Zombie Comics, by David Kendall, editor.  Trade (oversized) paperback.

Gotta love it.  What else can I say?

Price:  $5.00.  State of Maine sales tax of 5.5% is included in this price.  Purchasing via PayPal through this website is available by scrolling to the end of this page!

Condition:  Very good.

FCFS.  Sorry, no holds without payment in advance via PayPal (see below for purchase options).  We don’t use any other cash or money app.

Local Pick Up Available:

Auburn.  This item is located at a private home in Auburn, and can be seen there by appointment, which ordinarily would be on weekends only. For those who prefer, you can find this item on Facebook’s Marketplace here: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/920501852224634 or you can send an email to Linda at HeritageCollectiblesMaine@gmail.com

Payment Through This Website:  This site supposedly offers the option of paying directly but there’s some kind of weird glitch and payment info for every new item posted somehow auto-populates to every previous item.  Since that’s obviously wrong, I’ve had to eliminate that option on most items.  My apologies!  Please connect with me via heritagecollectiblesmaine@gmail.com for purchase info.  Because my primary business is non-stop and demanding, I probably won’t get back to you until early morning or late evening. (More apologies!)

Happy Trails is open Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays from 9:00-5:00, and Sundays from 10:00-4:00. Our booth number (both booths) is S47, although one says S75 on the booth wall. In memory of my beloved husband John K Snyder… 20 Sept 1956 – 21 Oct 2016.

He loved our shops, especially the section we called Heritage Books, Maps & Ephemera – that was his baby.  Johnny was an avid reader, who loved the feel of real books in his hands… history was his forte, but in true Renaissance Man fashion, John knew a lot about a great many subjects.  He would often be so fascinated by a book he was reading that he would excitedly read aloud passages to me, so we could discuss the ideas contained therein.

He loved me like crazy, and oh how I loved him.

Follow our blog at https://warrior-project.org, in honor of my husband, and all others who have been lost to internal demons that in the end, overwhelmed them.

All of the profits after expenses from Heritage Collectibles, Books & Maps will go to help fund The Grief Warrior Project, a suicide prevention drop-in and counseling center in the process of being developed, although it has been in hiatus during the pandemic.  I’m hoping to begin working on this again during the spring of 2022.

(Please Note: The Grief Warrior Project is in no way intended to be reflective of, or piggy back off, Wounded Warriors which serves those military personnel wounded after September 11, 2001.  Like too many others, John was a warrior long before then.)

Special Orders. If there’s something you’re looking for – whether it’s antique, vintage or contemporary; furniture, art, spiritual (ancients, indigenous, other), tools, collectibles, funky, or what-have-you— we’re happy to search out such items.  Presuming they’re available in your price range, condition and so forth, we can obtain the item and if you purchase it immediately, we’ll take 25% off what would otherwise be our retail price.  We won’t bid on something without checking with you first, unless we’re positive we can sell it anyway! Coke vs White Vinegar – Which Is Better at Getting Rid of Rust?

Posted by Linda Snyder, Proprietor

Frankly, I don’t know yet.

A while ago I purchased two lots of old cast iron silhouettes. One lot was in good shape; the other was pretty rusty. Some on-line sources said the quickest and easiest way of addressing the rust is to soak the item in white vinegar and then clean up with an old toothbrush.

I mentioned this to friends who advised using Coca Cola instead, which reminded me that I’d heard of that method several years (okay, decades) ago.

Well, what would you do? Me? I trotted over to Hannaford’s and picked up a couple of jugs of each. Late yesterday afternoon, I set up one soak basin with Coke, and one with white vinegar. I’ll let you know the results when I arrive at the office later this morning!

Note: The first photo above shows the rusty roosters soaking in white vinegar. The second is the Coke basin.

Our Locations:

Oxford (ME). We have two booths at Happy Trails Antiques & Flea Market, 891 Main Street, Oxford (ME); their phone is 207-515-0927. Happy Trails is open Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays from 9:00-5:00, and Sundays from 10:00-4:00.

Brunswick (ME). We have a display cabinet (#27) of all antiqes items at Cabot Mill Antiques, 14 Maine Street in Brunswick (ME). Their phone number is 207-725-2855. Cabot Mill is open Sunday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Lewiston (ME). Some of our inventory is located at Linda’s office in downtown Lewiston. Because that office is for her other business (mental health admin & services), it’s not open to the public, so any inventory located there can only be seen or picked up by appointment.

Waterville (ME). Coming Soon: Our ALL ANTIQUES (pre-1965) booth at Hathaway Mill Antiques, 10 Water Street in Waterville (ME) will open on May 1st. Their phone number is 207-877-0250. Hathaway Mill Antiques is open Wednesdays through Sundays, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. (I’m not sure yet of our booth number.)

SOLD! Two Door Aluminum Wardrobe Cabinet

Posted by Linda Snyder, Proprietor

Nothing fancy about this – it’s a nice, clean wardrobe type cabinet. It reminds me of a school locker, only much wider and would be great for jackets & boots in a garage or mudroom.

It’s lightweight enough that even a fairly short person can move it easily. It is not a locking cabinet.

Condition:   It’s in very good condition with the exception of some rust both on the bottom inside the cabinet, and underneath it, so I suspect it was used in a garage.

Dimensions:  58.5″ high x 24″ wide x 18.5″ deep
