Here’s a wonderful antique child’s horsie for two!

Our red horse with black features is clearly an antique, although a quick run through the thousands of photos of “red wood horses” didn’t find any similar to this one. 

This horsie was designed for two small children to ride together as you can see from the two sets of pegs… or perhaps one larger child who wanted to sit toward the rear, and perch his or her legs on the front pegs.

Condition: 

This antique horse has been well-loved.  Really well-loved.  And he even has broken his front leg, possibly in service to a generation of bouncing, excited kids.  He needs a lot of restoration work (including the “handles” that are missing as shown by the holes in the poor guy’s head) – or could be displayed as is, in all his well-worn beauty.

Dimensions: 

Red antique horse:  31″L x 9″ W.  It’s 10.5″ to the top of the seat, and 20″ to the top of the horse’s head.

Price:  $40.00. Plus 5.5% Maine State Sales tax, of $2.20 for a total of $42.20.

Location & Purchasing: This piece is located in our display case (#27) at Cabot Mill Antiques, Fort Andross, 14 Maine Street, Brunswick ME. You can purchase directly through them by visiting that beautiful shop, 7 days a week from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm (7:00 pm on Fridays).

Shipping & Delivery: Because this item is on display 20 miles from us, I may not even know for several days (usually over a weekend) whether or not an item is still available, but can bring it back to Lewiston for you the next time I’m in Brunswick updating our display. At that point, you’d be able to take advantage of local pick up at my office (by appointment only), or I can get it delivered to you per the next paragraph.

We can deliver within Lewiston-Auburn most days, or along the Lewiston-Lisbon-Topsham-Brunswick route (dates vary), for a $15.00 delivery fee, or Gray/Portland (along the 202 Route, or just off it) early Wednesday mornings for the same $15.00.

Shipping via USPS is $20.00.
