Bronze Hindu Goddess Durga

This is an amazing vintage/antique bronze statue of the Hindu Goddess Durga. She is seated on a tiger and has 8 arms, seven of which hold a weapon.  The palm of the eighth arm is near her chest, facing outward.

According to IndianExpress.com, “Another name for Durga is Durgatinashini which means ‘the one who eliminates suffering’. Her name thus indicates her role as the one who protects her devotees and removes evil from the world.”

The piece is very heavy for its size although I don’t know its weight.  My smaller scale only goes to 4 pounds, and my larger one medical scale doesn’t register its weight.

Pricing:  $125.00 plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax.

Condition:  The piece is in excellent condition with some of the greenish patina caused by oxidation and expected of a bronze piece with some age to it.

Dimensions:  12.0 inches long x 6.0 inches wide and 12.0 inches tall
