According to Wikipedia, “A Windsor chair is a chair built with a solid wooden seat into which the chair-back and legs are round-tenoned, or pushed into drilled holes, in contrast to standard chairs, where the back legs and the uprights of the back are continuous. The seats of Windsor chairs were often carved into a shallow dish or saddle shape for comfort. Traditionally, the legs and uprights were usually turned on a pole lathe. The back and sometimes the arm pieces (if arms are present) are formed from steam bent pieces of wood.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windsor_chair
Our two Windsor chairs are good and solid. Although they appear the same at first glance, they were made somewhat differently as you can tell from the backs. The spindles on the right-hand chair do not go all the way through the arched back, while those on the left do.
Condition: As shown in the pictures, the chairs are in good to very good condition; the one on the left being in better shape than the other. There’s a close up of the right hand one’s seat where the spindles meet, showing some minor splitting.
Price: $15.00 each plus Maine sales tax of 5.5% for a total of $15.83.
Payment: We aren’t currently set up to accept credit or debit cards, but hope to have that taken care of soon. In the meantime, we’ll take good old US currency, checks (include your driver’s license and phone numbers, please), and PayPal.
Please Note: If you have a PayPal account but don’t know how to use it to pay for an item, we will walk you through it. We’ve also just learned of scams being perpetrated via PayPal, as reported in our blog: https://heritagecollectiblesmaine.com/2016/01/02/pay-pal-scams-on-craigslist-from-another-blogger/
Shipping: The chairs can be shipped for $25 each (or $40 for both), or we can arrange delivery within 350 miles at the rate of $.79 per mile round trip plus any applicable tolls. Multiple purchases to the same address can be combined into one delivery for a single delivery price, as long as everything can fit into our Jeep Liberty. If we must rent a cargo van or larger truck, the delivery price increases to reflect our additional costs. Must be paid for in advance. Sorry, no CODs.

Linda will be putting in extra hours at her job as a social worker, and will also be attending several auctions, looking for new inventory, as well as trying to finish organizing our expansion. John will spend his free time helping with the reorganization.
It’s possible we’ll be open a few hours here and there, but we won’t know when until it actually happens.

Message re Our Products:
Most of the items we offer are vintage, antique or simply pre-owned. Therefore, reasonable wear & tear is to be expected, and our items are sold as seen and as described in the photos and/or in person.
We try to describe any damage, nicks, blemishes or other problems of which we are aware in any and all of our listings, and always include plenty of clear photographs which are integral to the description, so please review them closely.
Also, please be aware that vintage and antique items are unlikely to be in factory condition, so if you aren’t used to buying antique or vintage items – and are in fact looking for a pristine, unused item – a new reproduction may be better suited for you.
We ordinarily do not “clean up” items because such cleaning may detract from their value.
We are specific and honest in our descriptions because we want happy buyers who will return and/or refer their friends!
