SOLD! Wonderful Brass and Cast Iron Weathervane Clock

This is a beautiful floor model weathervane clock of brass and cast iron.   The clock has two faces; one side includes a temperature gauge.

The clock comes apart into several different sections for easy transport; overall it weighs about 60 lbs.

As you can see from the photos, it’s standing in the waiting room of my office suite; I’ve had it for several months, not really wanting to post it.  But as with most things I purchase for this business, it really is intended to be sold.  So, here you are!

Dimensions:  74″H x 15″W at its base.  The clock face is 12″ in diameter.

Condition:  Excellent.  It’s a wonderful piece and came out of a home that was filled with amazing pieces of art.  Although these weathervane clocks are billed as “Indoor-Outdoor”, I don’t believe this piece was ever outside; there’s no sign of weathering at all.

I do have to change out the batteries, as the clock face without the temp gauge is off significantly.  The other runs a few minutes slow, but has been since obtaining it, so I suspect it’s been that way all along.

“A Breath of Summer” Indoor-Outdoor Floral Welcome Plaque

According to the tag on back, this is an outdoor aluminum plaque with the tagline “Outdoor art that really lasts”. The front design appears to be either under or embedded in a hard glossy plastic that’s almost like glass.

The plaque was Made in U.S.A.; the company is based in Pennsylvania.

Condition:   Excellent; like new.

Dimensions:   14″H x 9″W.

Motherhood

This is a lovely pencil drawing of a mother and child, which just evokes sweetness, tenderness and protectiveness for a little one. I have no idea who the artist is, and research through hundreds of drawings came up blank.

If someone was able to point me in the artist’s direction, I’d be ever so grateful!

Condition:   Very good.  There are a couple of minor dings in the frame, but otherwise it’s in great shape.

SOLD! A Bostonian’s Idea of the United States

Okay, so this is wicked funny. At least to me. I have no idea what someone from Boston would think of this, although apparently the original is in a collection at the Boston Public Library.

And since the original is about 85 years old, I suspect there would be some changes in the “Bostonian’s” thought patterns.

Condition:   Vintage, circa 1935.  There is a water stain on the bottom in the middle, and one on the left hand side.  If there was ever any glass in the frame, it’s long gone.

Dimensions:  The frame is about 12 1/4″ W x 8 1/2″H.

Enjoy Your Grandchildren, Psalm 128:6

This is a sweet little wall hanging, with the etching “Enjoy Your Grandchildren” enclosed in a heart. The wood frame has a slightly distressed look to it.

Condition:   Excellent; in new condition as it came out of a shop on the Cape that closed.  You can see it still has its original pricing sticker.   I believe I have three in all but can’t presently find the other two.

We have two older, apparently handmade wooden trays. The color is a nice brown wood, which washed out in the photos.

Plastic Garden “Scare-Owl”

Trying to keep squirrels or or other critters out of your garden? Why not try a plastic “scare-owl”? (I call him Junior. Yeah, if you’ve read my other posts, you’ll know I tend to name such things.)

The directions say to turn the owl facing a different direction with some frequency, which is supposed to render it more life-like.
