SOLD! Sweet Little Caned Chair with Black Patterned Pillows – Now a Project Chair?

I loved this chair when I saw it at the auction house, even though it had a couple of small breaks in the caning on the back.

However, when I tried to get it into U-Haul, which was already packed full of other furniture I’d purchased, I heard that sound no one wants to hear – the sound of the caning catching on something and suddenly there weren’t a couple of small holes.  The photos show what happened.

The chair comes with two small black and white pillows that match the seat cushion.

Dimensions:   Oops… once again, I’ve left the dimensions at the office, although you should be able to eyeball the measurements from the photos (as there’s plenty of background furniture to help visualize, right?).  It’s not a large chair.

Condition:  Structurally, except for the tears in the back, it’s in really good shape.  Visually, we have the tears in the caning issue.  If you have the talent and the time to repair that back, you’ll have a great little chair.

FIRM Price:  $10.00, plus 5.5% Maine State Sales tax of $.55 for a total of $10.55.

Unless we’re having a sale, which would be listed here, our prices are firm.

Our Apologies, But Holds Over 24 Hours Must Now Provide a 50% Deposit: As we’ve gotten busier, I’m spending a great deal of time juggling multiple requests for the same item.  Most of the time, something comes up in the customer’s life that prevents him or her from getting here, but sometimes I never do here from them again. And in the meantime, other customers who are asking about the item end up moving on when the chair or art or garden statue or whatever isn’t immediately available.  So without a deposit, I’ll now have to implement a First Come, First Served policy.

Shipping & Delivery:  Free local pickup.  We can deliver within Lewiston-Auburn for a $10.00 delivery fee, or Gray/Portland (along the 202 Route, or just off it) early Wednesday mornings for the same $10.00.  Shipping is $20.00.

Buying Details:  We are very low tech.  Payment can be made via PayPal, good check (please allow 1 week to clear if not known to us) or cash.

SOLD! Mid Century Floor Lamp with Table

This is a great Mid Century floor lamp in very good condition – it’s just too bad we only have one!

I suspect we all remember this style, with the small round table in the center of the lamp frame.  A great space saver, for sure!

Dimensions:   Oops… once again, I’ve left the dimensions at the office, although you should be able to eyeball the measurements from the photos (as there’s plenty of background furniture to help visualize, right?).

Condition:  It’s in really good shape.  There are no obvious blemishes in the wood, and even the lamp shade is without clear flaws.  There is likely some rust on the metal, but I didn’t check it closely enough to see any.

FIRM Price:  $30.00, plus 5.5% Maine State Sales tax of $1.65 for a total of $31.65.

Unless we’re having a sale, which would be listed here, our prices are firm.

SOLD! Woodworker’s Foldable Workbench

This was my late husband’s workbench, which he kept in the mancave and used when puttering and putting together endless models of airplanes. (They’re all still hanging from the ceiling of his 750 sf mancave – when he ran out of ceiling space, he started hanging them from the rafters in our garage.  I haven’t moved or removed any of them.)

Other than this, and the fact that he had old wooden clothespins attached to this – I guess to help with the smaller pieces or while glue was drying? – I don’t know anything about it.

Dimensions:   It’s 22″ wide x 27″ high.  The top surface extends to about 11″; it’s 24″ deep with the legs fully extended.

Condition:  It’s a bit dusty but otherwise is in like-new condition.

FIRM Price:  $35.00.  Because this is my personal item and not part of Heritage Collectibles’ inventory, there is no sales tax.

Unless we’re having a sale, which would be listed here, our prices are firm.

SOLD! Wow! A Stunning Pair of Mahogany End Tables with Red Leather Accents!

When I bid on these, I depended on just a couple of photos posted by the auction company, confident that this company only sells quality items.

And Wow!  Are these tables beautiful!  The photos, as they say, do not do them justice.  You really need to see them in person.

Dimensions: They are 28″ high by 20″ deep x 25″ wide.

Condition:  Both structurally and visually, these tables are in near perfect condition.  They are just beautiful.

FIRM Price:  $225.00, plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax of $12.38 for a total of $237.38

Unless we’re having a sale, which would be listed here, our prices are firm.

SOLD! Antique Boston Terrier or French Bulldog Door Stop

Awww…. look at our little Boston Terrier door stop with the turned up nose!

According to a Google search, the most common name for a male Boston is Rocky… so Rocky he is!  Don’t you just love him?

Here’s the description from the auction house:  “This piece may have had an early repaint. We believe it to be an antique piece and not a reproduction.”  (I also believe it’s an original.)

Dimensions: The overall length is about 7 inches. 8 inches high to the tip of the ear and about 3.5 inches wide at the shoulders.

Condition: There are no cracks, breaks or chips in the iron.  There is some loss of paint, but that’s to be expected.

FIRM Price:  $45.00, plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax of $2.48 for a total of $47.48.

Unless we’re having a sale, which would be listed here, our prices are firm.

SOLD! Vintage Amber and Filigreed Metal, Partitioned Hanging Light Fixture

This vintage ceiling light fixture and lamp is just soooo pretty.  I love love love it!

It would look great in a Victorian, art deco, Hemingway-ish, or even a farmhouse style home or office.

Dimensions:  The globe itself is 13″ in diameter and 11″ high.  The chain is about 24″ long.

Condition:  I’ve found no cosmetic or structural flaws or blemishes.

FIRM Price:  $65.00, plus 5.5% Maine State Sales Tax of $3.58 for a total of $68.58.

Unless we’re having a sale, which would be listed here, our prices are firm.

Condition:  Very good.  The map itself is clear and crisp, as it apparently has been under glass and out of the light for quite some time.  The matting is in good shape.  The frame does have a couple of dings, and the metal eyes for the hanging wire in back evidence some rust.

Location & Purchasing: This piece is located in our display case (#27) at Cabot Mill Antiques, Fort Andross, 14 Maine Street, Brunswick ME. You can purchase directly through them by visiting that beautiful shop, 7 days a week from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

SOLD! Map of the Inter-Colonial Wars, First Published in the Late 1800s

According to the inscription on the back, this was first published in 1887, 1893 and/or 1901.  I’m not sure which date is accurate.  Maps were my late husband’s bailiwick – he loved them!  He also loved any history relating to various wars, although WWII was the one he was most interested in.

The photos give a better explanation of this piece than I can; those of the back show that there is some age to the piece although certainly not 100+ years old.

Dimensions:  The frame is about 16 1/2″ high by 14″ wide.

Old farmhouses used to have at least one or two of these available to dry apples or ears of corn.

If there’s something you’re looking for – whether it’s antique, vintage or contemporary; furniture, art, spiritual (ancients, indigenous, other), tools, collectibles, funky, or what-have-you— we’re happy to search out such items.  Presuming they’re available in your price range, condition and so forth, we can obtain the item and if you purchase it immediately, we’ll take 25% off what would otherwise be our retail price.  We won’t bid on something without checking with you first, unless we’re positive we can sell it anyway! Give Linda a call at 207-740-2247.

All sales after expenses help support The Grief Warrior Project. https://heritagecollectiblesmaine.com/supporting-the-grief-warrior-project/
